Focus

What is it that motivates you? What are you really sold out to?  Is it that thing that glitters in the distance? You know what I mean; it looks great and seems like an awesome place to be. Some of us spend our lives chasing endless rainbows to find out there is no Pot-of-Gold. Where has your search been taking you? We live in a world full of opportunities. Some are good some are just glitter or rainbows with no end. A lot of things look good at a distance, but when you get closer and begin to focus in on them you begin to see their true colors and shape. Maybe we need to get out the binoculars and take a closer look. We may find that the thing we have been pursuing is not what it seems. If we really focus in on that thing it may reveal how out of focus we really are. I've found in my life, when I get out my binoculars and take a real look it helps me to get refocused on the thing that really matters the most and that is pursuing God and his plan and purpose for me. Why don't you get out the binoculars and see what you are really focused on? I challenge you to let 2011 be a year of getting refocused. See what's out there that really matters and has lasting value. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus.

Proverbs 4:23-27 MSG

Keep vigilant watch over your heart;
that's where life starts.
Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth;
avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.
Keep your eyes straight ahead;
ignore all sideshow distractions.
Watch your step,
and the road will stretch out smooth before you.
Look neither right nor left;
leave evil in the dust.
