Weeds! You may be thinking, "Why are you writing about weeds?".  Well let me explain. In our study of the Parable of the Sower the third type of soil the seed landed in what was weed infested soil. It wasn't what the soil lacked but what was in addition to the soil that was the problem (Modern Parables). The "worries of life" weeds cause us to lose focus on the provision of God for us. Also the "riches, wealth and pleasures" weeds can choke out the life of the believer if they are allowed occupy or change our focus. It's also not about how much you have or don't have, it's about where your importance is placed. If you want to bear fruit you must keep your focus on Christ and His purpose for your life. Don't allow any additions to your life to take precedence over your relationship with God or His family. "Then turning to his disciples, Jesus said, " That's what happens when you fill your barn with Self and not with God. Steep yourself in God-Reality. Don't fuss about what's on the table at mealtimes or if the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your inner life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes that hang on your body." (The Message Luke 12:21-23) Let's get the weeds out and let the seed of the Word grow to maturity in our lives!
