Fan or Follower? PDF Print E-mail

Fan or Follower? On Sunday we start our series "not a fan". Over the next several weeks we will be challenged to DTR (define the relationship) that we have with Christ. We're all fans of different things. Sports, music, actors and many other things. Sports fans get excited and cheer when things go the way they like, but they boo and hiss when things don't go their way. A fan can be defined as an enthusiastic admirer. I think it is time we take a look at our relationship. A follower is committed to the cause, willing to take action and do whatever is necessary. A fan is content to watch and get excited at what he sees being accomplished. How about you, are you committed? Are you really a follower?  Or do you just come to watch? You like what you see, but can't get involved. Most fans will never get asked or would never want to be asked to participate in the game. I really pray that you will open up your heart during these next several weeks and look at your relationship with Jesus and decide to define it. We are living in some of the most exciting and trying times that have ever been here on earth. Defining our relationship with Him is very critical in how we will stand through the days ahead. Let's get out of the stands and onto the field.
