From Bad to Worse: Cain and Able

We don’t know exactly why God rejected Cain’s offering, but most scholars seem to think it’s because Abel brought the best of his herd while Cain brought the leftovers of his harvest. God wants the best we have to offer. When we come to Him with a posture any less we open ourselves up to sin. And sin wants to take us. It wants to consume us. That’s what we’re talking about this week.

I don’t know where you’re tempted to give God less than everything. But I pray that you turn from whatever you’re withholding from Him and, instead, turn over everything. Don’t let sin grab you. You have everything you need to rule over it.
